Helen M. Waite
Originally from Cumberland, Rhode Island, Helen moved to Newport, RI where she met and later married her husband Dan who was serving in the Navy. In 1992 Helen and Dan moved back to Naples. With unbridled energy and enthusiasm Helen earned her degree in Hospitality Management and embarked on a career in Hospitality where she excelled in all areas of the hospitality industry from Sales, Human Resources, Food and Beverage and Housekeeping. In 1999, Helen had a higher calling and truly wanted to make a difference in the lives of others. Helen joined the fight against cancer and joined the American Cancer Society in Hershey, Pennsylvania and worked for ACS in Atlanta, Georgia and Virginia Beach, Virginia. Helen continued her work of caring for others when she joined Eastern Virginia Medical School’s outreach program called Every Woman’s Life where Helen coordinated life saving medical screenings for disadvantaged and indigent women. Upon moving back to Florida, Helen worked in the non-profit community as a Corporate Social Responsibility Manager. In this capacity, Helen was a liaison between Corporations and Non-profit agencies in South Florida. Little did Helen know that when she was providing non-profit agencies with much needed financial assistance, community support and desperately needed beatification, she would find her true calling… becoming an advocate for Seniors. Helen facilitated projects at several Nursing Homes and Adult Day Facilities in South Florida and was so impacted by the experience that she worked in her off time to study under professionals that have run Adult Day Facilities for the past fifteen years. Within two years, Helen has followed her passion and calling to become the Owner and Executive Director of Naples first Adult Day Center, Ardent Manor, Inc. Scheduled to open in September 2009, Ardent Manor is located in the heart of Naples at 2900 Tamiami Trail North. Helen’s whole life has prepared her to embark on a journey to not just care to for seniors but to truly be an advocate and provide a place that is warm, friendly and fun.
